Billed as the first complete record of Adler & Sullivan’s work, the 475-page book has more than 800 images, ranging from rare historic photographs to color and black-and-white photographs taken by Richard Nickel, Aaron Siskind, Institute of Design students, and recent photographers. Also included are essays on Adler & Sullivan’s work by John Vinci that put the work in historical context and a catalogue raisonne of Adler & Sullivan’s projects — from houses to warehouses to banks to synagogues to skyscrapers. Published by Richard Nickel Committee, distributed by The University of Chicago, and printed by Meridian Press on the finest archival paper, “The Complete Architecture of Adler & Sullivan” is truly both a photographic essay and a scholarly work.
